And you still seem to have zero understanding of the electoral college and the fact that candidates do in fact win and lose states. That's why we have the whole red and blue state thing

Still doesn't change the fact that states don't vote; people do.

The electoral college isn't based on number of states or landmass or any other such nonsense - it's based primarily on how many people those states contain. Saying "Trump won 3/4 of the states" is, in addition to being factually wrong, a completely meaningless sentence. You could win 3/4 of the states and still lose the election. Just 11 states - California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and New Jersey - have exactly 270 electoral votes between them, which is enough to eke out a win. And the entire reason for that is because those states are populous and the people are the ones who are supposed to decide who runs things.

It doesn't even give you an indication of how many people voted for a candidate, since saying "you won a state" doesn't indicate by how much. In a hypothetical "perfect" election, you could win office with as little as 22% of the votes (discounting third parties and tie breakers, both of which drop the margin even farther).

The fact that I, a foreigner, actually have to explain this to Americans is kind of sad...
