Write-Up: Sweet. We get another dose of the 60's up in here lol. This song was started in 1969 of course but by the time of it's release it was spring of the new decade. I believe most of the song was written before the new year which is why I joke about it being a 60's tune. CCR really knew how to jam in their day though and were rising stars from day one. Brothers John and Tom Fogerty actually grew up in the bajou which makes them true Swamp Rockers. The 4 members of the band had actually started playing together in 1959 but hadn't formed the band until 1967. It's actually quite impressive the amount of hits they turned out for the mere 5 years they played as a band. I bet you didn't realize that either; that they were together for so short a time. Believe it or not though the band suffered from internal drama that would be the downfall of the band. They struggled with business and artistic control and I guess could never compromise. After they split up, each member went on to perform their own acts with John Fogerty really the only member to see success again in later years. ====================================
