The real "good" radio stations are the weird ones, imo. Like, radio is kinda bad because you cant control what is played, but anything that isnt a generic station owned by clearchannel or otherwise following the same "50 songs, all day every day" if you even have one. Here we have one called WYEP that is funded by grants and people who listen. Not always do I like what they play but its still refreshing when the radio is on to hear something different. Also college radio. One time the local college station was playing what appeared to be gameboy/color esque music, as well as other things. No one genre dominates, ive heard jazz, folk, video game, alternative, etc etc.

I could go on for days about how much I hate the generic radio format, but since it all boils down to being easy and accessible, oh well.

Yeah, we have a local, WXRC, 95.7 "The Ride". It's mostly classic rock, but you can go literally days without hearing the same song twice.

There's also 102.9 The Lake, their motto is "We play everything". And they do, but they have a certain amount of repitition.

I really only listen to our "alternative" station (106.5) for their morning show Woody & Wilcox.
