it's fine. i could have it playing in the background but i don't know that i'd actually go out of my way to play it. kind of sounds similar to other stuff in the genre and it still has that mass-produced feel. also i have very mixed feelings about rap verses in pop songs. it feels like a lose-lose situation so many times because it just seems obligatory and interrupts the flow of the song for me while having otherwise good rappers drop one of the wackest verses in their careers because they have to neuter it for radio play and casual audiences. i guess this is more about my experience for english-language pop songs but maybe that resentment unconsciously carries over. BTS def made me feel differently about the issue at times but i don't extend that same grace to other groups yet.

7th Street - Closer

i actually can't believe this is one spot above Say My Name because i like this waaaaaay better listening to them now and could see it going higher based on how i feel about the ones above it now. probably why you shouldn't take the list after first listens as too accurate. the naked-sounding instrumentals coming together, the higher-pitched vocals during the chorus, and could definitely stick in my head way easier.
