He is wrong. One example... You're out and about and getting hungry. "Hey Google, what restaurants are nearby?" Your phone shows you all the different restaurants near you and tells you turn by turn how get there. Your computer back at home can't help you find these things on a whim, while you're out going about your day. If you knew when you were going to get hungry and where you would be at that time you could look it up on your computer before you leave the house. But that's not the same.
And yes, since tablets are essentially just large smart phones, I'm sure they would break the rules. Maybe if it didn't have it's own data connection and still required wifi it would be ok.
A computer can still do all that. Smart phone is just far more convienent. Plus wherent laptops and Wi-Fi hot spots or whatever a thing?
Ive actually never used my phone to find out whats around food wise. Guess im old fashion and just manually look/drive around.
Theres road trips, though. Or traveling in general. I know when I was traveling with my mom, we would ask our phones. You can only see so much from the highway. And the signs on the side can only show so many places. A laptop can do that. But only if you were home, or found internet somewhere. Like at a restaurant. By then, its probably to late to check. Driving around is fine for some. I hate wasting gas when I can just ask and get the info I need...
Ah when im hungry im not super picky I'll go to the first place I know I dont mind. Like yesterday I ate burger king just because it was literally right there.
Personally I wont use my phone at all while driving so thats also part of it.
I would say I'm picky. But there are places I don't want to go. And there are places I would like to try or go to that I would only find with my phone... Or possibly driving around wasting gas for while. It's nice to know what your options are all at once or instantly. ---
