Topic	Are there people that actually took "AP" classes in high school?

I even took some college credit courses while in high school so I was able to skip English when I actually enrolled in college. I'm honestly glad that most of the classes I took were on that level. From what I used to hear, regular classes were a complete joke at my school. Grades were given to athletes so they could play ball and the classes were often bad learning environments. At least, that's how it was at my high school. I remember one of the teachers did a presentation for an athlete so he could continue playing football.
