Later today, Nintendo will host a series of tournaments, starting with the Super Mario Maker 2 Invitational. This will be followed by the Splatoon 2 World Championship and then the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate World Championship.

The Super Mario Maker 2 Invitational will most likely reveal new things we haven't seen before. Last month when Nintendo hosted a Super Mario Maker 2 press event to select professional reviewers to try out the game and post their own footage of the game, there were several things that the reviewers weren't allowed to reveal. One of the things that couldn't be revealed was the Night Castle theme. A popular theory is going around that Nintendo is going to reveal the Night Castle theme as the theme for the final round of the Invitational. The Night Castle theme most likely has a previously unseen game mechanic not present in any of the other night themes if Nintendo is trying to keep this theme a secret for now.
