I'd love to open a cafe that caters to board gamers, with a couple rooms in the back for bigger or louder groups such as DnD players, but that would require funds as well.

And time plus paperwork to set up.

And a good location for it.

I have the full concept in mind as well as a name for it. That is all. The only voice of dissent out of everyone I've told so far has been the woman responsible for my lifelong mental scarring. So I know it's a good idea. The question is how do I get to that point, while supporting myself and so forth?

you work your ass off.

my wife worked full time through college, and i worked 2 jobs for 6 years to see her through it.

after she graduated and got regular work i started my first business. it was an 80 hour a week endeavor and i was barely earning enough to make ends meet and put away money to start the business i actually wanted to. i was basically a broker, and the vast majority of my profits were pumped back into the business in order to keep it moving forward.

after another 5 years of this i closed my last deal and used the entirety of my funds to study up, get my PI license and start making some actual money.

so from my experience i can tell you to expect at least a decade of hard work and long exhausting hours if you want to succeed. also helps a lot to have a partner that you will support when they need it and who will support you when you do.

its not easy, and its not for everybody. there is nothing wrong with you if you dont make it, and there is nothing particularly special about you if you do. people have different priorities, but its best if you admit to yourself what those priorities are so that you can buckle down and see them fulfilled.
