I'd love to open a cafe that caters to board gamers, with a couple rooms in the back for bigger or louder groups such as DnD players, but that would require funds as well.

And time plus paperwork to set up.

And a good location for it.

I have the full concept in mind as well as a name for it. That is all. The only voice of dissent out of everyone I've told so far has been the woman responsible for my lifelong mental scarring. So I know it's a good idea. The question is how do I get to that point, while supporting myself and so forth?

That's a good question. I used to know someone who started 2 businesses but they worked their backsides off to get the money before going to the small business administration (SBA) for a loan. Your local community college or high school might have a class on how to start a small business; if you have to pay for the class, I wouldn't know since I don't live in that area of the country. The first thing, though is that you're going to need some kind of collateral and a drawn out business plan that you can present to investors in order to convince them to lend you the money necessary.
