socialism calls for the workers to take over the means of production

the Nazis were not workers, they were overseers. businesses and corporations were still operated in their normal capitalist sense, where the profits flowed upward into the owner class. the only difference is that the government had much more of a hand in how things operated

the name was chosen partially because it was inherited from the previous party that Hitler took control of, and partially because he was seeking to appeal to Germans from all walks of life. just read through the full title of the party, National Socialist German Worker's Party - it's a collection of buzzwords from both the right and the left, meant to appeal to nationalists and workers alike
