A. Hit animals

Can't always control that

B. Not even stop when they do

Might not have even known they did.

They also might not have been interested in pressing charges against the owner for damages to their vehicle if there even was any.

I mean if you're doing like 50+ and it jumps out then I understand but most of the time it happens at low speeds where I live. This happened at a light and he hit the cat before he even crossed the intersection so he was still accelerating and absolutely could have avoided it. They absolutely had to know they did it.

And bullshit, it's so heartless to just carry on. That could have been someone's pet.

What are you supposed to do if you hit an animal though? Seems excessive for 911.

You do what I did for him. You pull over to check on it and take it to the vet. I mean I had plans with my girlfriend, we were both all dressed up and it took time out of our schedule to do it. Plus my clothes got covered in blood but I wouldn't think twice about doing it.

Like I get that people just drive on and don't think about it but it's just frustrating to think people would do that and leave a defenseless animal to an awful death. Most of the time it isn't going to be able to get out of the way and it's going to get hit again and die a horrible death.

I don't think people are aware that you can take it to the vet and surrender the animal and they will treat it for free if possible. So the only extra effort you have to make is to take it to the vet which I guess depends on where you live as to how available one is
