Was driving to the cinema with my girlfriend we saw the asshole in front of us hit an animal and not even stop. Driving a really expensive car too. We immediately u-turned to check and managed to get back before anybody else hit it again.

Turned out to be a cat that is very likely a stray. He was still alive when we got there so we took him to the emergency clinic. Hard to evaluate how injured he was. No broken limbs but was bleeding from the mouth and had a hard time breathing. He was calm on my lap all the way there and then had enough fight to be feisty and hiss/try claw and escape when we got to the clinic so hopefully his injuries aren't too severe.

Had to surrender him to the vet clinic and legally they aren't allowed to give any updates after surrender :( I offered to pay all assessment fees just to find out and then surrender and let them treat but unfortunately not an option. I really hope hes going to be treatable and ok. Him still having fight when I tried moving him off my lap gave me hope and the vet promised to treat him if possible rather than euthanize. They said they were doing xrays as i left and they weren't even supposed to tell me that much.

But it infuriates me that people will A. Hit animals and B. Not even stop when they do. The car didn't even attempt to brake or anything and it was after a light so he could have easily avoided it with a little effort in my opinion.
