I think hea trying to say most parents want babies, but not older kids. This can be for many reasons, but it is true that the older kids can sometimes get passed over when people wanting to be parents go to an orphanage or whatever... They do have a chance to be adopted, but usually if theyre younger.

Babies do go fast, but thats if they are adopted. If they get there at a bad time, they might be older than what the parent want. Not to mention that adoptions are a long process, IIRC...

He's making an insincere argument that overlooks the reality of the system. Most of the older kids in the system didn't come in as babies because, again, babies are in absurdly high demand -- such much so that many couples have to rely on surrogates from other nations.
