As my friend said when he was a pizza delivery person: Waiters just bring your food to a table at the restaurant. He brings it literally to your door. Why would you not tip him?

Rode around with him one day, we talked about stuff while he was going around w/ his deliveries. I remember one pizza he just left in the back seat for an hour while he picked up and delivered multiple other homes' orders. I asked about it, and he said the house that one was going to hadn't ever tipped him, on multiple occasions. :D

I hate paying a tip for delivery, so I always do carry out and drive there myself. I'd never get delivery and not tip, though.

That didn't happen. He would have been canned on the spot.

For what? Taking over a hour to deliver a pizza? Nah shit happens all the time and I bet only a handful actually call up to complain about it.

It happened.
He wasn't canned, at least not anytime soon after that.
He left that job several months later, forget if he quit or was fired. Regardless, the threat of losing a pizza delivery job just isn't the dreadful repercussion you seem to think it is.
