He'd never be able to use one - as has been pointed out in more recent books, one of the core principles of the green ring is that you need to have immense willpower, and that you need to be able to use it to overcome great fear. Whereas Batman has been entirely defined by his own fear for almost his entire life, to the point where he's turned it into a weapon he wields against others.

In essence, he'd make a perfect Sinestro Corps recruit. Which is why one of the yellow rings actually sought him out, and only rejected him because he HAD previously worn a green ring (Hal's), even if only for a very short time (when Hal was trying to make a point that Bruce would never be able to use a green ring).
