I mean, usually when someone puts someone in that position (in my experience) they try to get them to play a game that's no where near what the person playing would be interested in and then keeps getting annoyed because the person 'isn't doing it right' and 'isn't listening to them'. I dont think you have had a good backseat gaming experience if thats how most of your sessions have gone. And if they seemed to lose the drive I wouldnt push them, sometimes they preferred to backseat game to me instead. I think Im good at helping people learn to play games at a slow pace, as a patient teacher should be. Every game I have backseat gamed with someone included a interest in already playing that game. Never trying to drop something too difficult into the hands of an amateur. INCOMING PERSONAL EXPERIENCES>>> I actually have lots of experience with this, many were girls who weren't gamers, some of them girlfriends. I have got one girl who was completely disinterested in gaming to enjoy playing a game. It didnt make her a gamer, but she enjoyed her experience and the reason she played it was just because of her trust in me. Game was Limbo btw. Another girlfriend I had was interested in gaming and kind of fell out of playing it due to preferring to binge netflix all of the time because that was easier. I think her brother gave her a hard time when she did poorly at games. I teased her a bit but generally gave her encouragement and pointed out how she had improved from the last death. Game was Uncharted 5, the aim assist was up all the way ^o^ but I didnt give her flak about that because I just wanted to take her interest in the game and convert it to passion. I was proud of her for beating Until Dawn, which she beat side by side to me while I played another game. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
