| Kamekguy 05/22/19 4:20:29 PM #16: | I actually like parts of Will's Arabian Nights. He's VERY clearly not doing Willams' Arabic caricature voice, so he's allowed to do his own thing and add his own inflections. The others feel like a VERY deliberate attempt to not sound like the original to make the Genie feel not like Williams', and that unfortunately removes a LOT of inflection. Smith remains at the same, steady notes for quite a while whenever he does sing (which is rare, it's MOSTLY spoken, where the lack of overacting stands out even more). Adding in some of that sexy Disney live-action autotune and it feels like the safest versions of these songs you could make, and tremendously dull due to it that does no credit to even the potential Smith has to bring to the role.
