Vendors (every single one) allowing debit/credit cards must pay a fee to a merchant service. Those fees are based on whatever contract they've signed. Clearly, they are attempting to discourage the use of cards.

The problem with that is more and more people are moving to cards it seems like.

If you lose it, you cancel and get a new one. If you lose cash, sucks to suck.

Cards are more versatile, you can use them online and IRL.

And some people I know just hate having cash on them for some reason.

wrong it's a lot easier for cards to fall out of a wallet than cash the card slots get loose over time cash isn't going to fall out of your wallet

What kind of water-solutable wallet are you using? Cards are held tighter than cash.
