A sport is a game, the word sport is derived from the latin word for a game.

In general conversation, people often differentiate the two to be fair. Language changes over time, with usage.

I'm not trying to be like *nahnahnah you're wrong' or something, just pointing out perhaps why this is genuinely the first time I've heard this. Because I've never heard of this at all.

In general, not aimed at anyone in particular:

In the end, I don't think it matters what game you play. Be it hopscotch or NASCAR. (To use the previous analogy.) The point in a game is to have fun, if you're having fun that's what matters. I'm not really big on shooters generally, but I don't find anything wrong with them. Just like I'm sure there's people who aren't big on RPGs that don't see anything wrong with them. Personal tastes.

When it comes to mobile vs console (including handhelds)... Well I have to be real I've played a few mobile games that were harder than console games. Some console games I've played are super easy, and you know... that's okay. Sometimes you just want to be really good at something, feels good. Sometimes games are more about story too, that happens. Sometimes people are just really good at a certain game and it feels easy, while bad at another so it feels really hard.

Also there are rhythm games for consoles and mobile. What would those be classified? Barbie has dress up games on consoles. Splitting by means of play, as some do, really isn't nuanced enough to really look at what kinds of games are being played. And, quite honestly, I don't think we need that kind of divide anyway.

I most play what's classified as simulation games and RGPs, however I also enjoy Resident Evil games from time to time. Fighting games on occasion. And more crafting based games. And mobile games of all sorts of shades. And idle games. Some would say I'm a gamer, others wouldn't, and I really don't care either way. Feels weird to me instead of giving people who play something different a nod people seem to be so quick to go after if someone is playing a 'real game' or not.

I'm barely over 33 (34) and I don't see me ever quitting playing games. At least not until all my old games give out, as there's not a lot of new offerings coming out that I really care about. The numbers are dwindling more and more it feels like as time goes on. But as long as there's at least one I want and my old games hold out, then yeah I'll keep playing.
