Guess I'd better make some mod recommendations, for the hell of it. With some mods, it's important that you know which DLCs you have before downloading which versions. Having all the DLC is usually pretty easy and straightforward; if you picked and chose, you're on your own to figure it out ;-P

Wattz Laser Gun: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/4037113
- easily my favorite weapon mod in Fallout 4. Fully modular on par with vanilla laser rifles, and is nicely integrated into the world through vendor and enemy loot lists (there's also about 4 or 5 hand-placed unique variants in the world with custom skins and effects). This fills a very nice gameplay niche by giving you a laser rifle that's powerful enough to be effective right up until the endgame, but not quite as overpowered as the Gauss Rifle.

Cross Strigidae Courser Suit: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/4045095
- one of those mods that puts all similar mods to shame. The file size is high, but it's worth every bit of space (and I don't say that lightly). The modularity of this outfit is off the charts: something like a dozen different color variants, longcoat, shortcoat, sleeveless, different gloves, etc. And it goes without saying that it's one of the best looking outfits I've ever put on my character / followers.

Cross Expedition Suit: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/4060176
- another high-quality and super-modular outfit from the same team, this one actually fills a gaping gameplay niche by giving you an immersive alternative to Power Armor for traversing the Glowing Sea and other irradiated zones that doesn't leave you vulnerable as shit.

Cross Jetpack: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/4019435
- pretty simple one here. All the fun of a jetpack without wearing Power Armor / burning up Fusion Cores. I used to use a simpler mod that just cheated in unlimited jetpacking, but that started to feel broken pretty quick.

Armor and Weapons Keywords Community Resource: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/1999534
- this is one of those necessary framework mods that makes a ton of crafting and equipment mods play nice together. It's a requirement for a ton of mods, so kind of a no-brainer at this point.

Universal Clothing Overhaul: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/931211
- downright essential mod for clothing customization. Palette swapping; armor pieces wearable on all outfits, and the ability to make said pieces invisible; legendary prefix swapping (no more farming for hours for that elusive Twoshot Gauss - just get a Gauss, another weapon with Twoshot, and you're good to go). The list goes on; I haven't played in awhile and I genuinely can't remember what all it does. AWKCR (^above) is a requirement. Also make sure and get the DLC addons for this mod.

Unlock Ballistic Weave: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/1518409
- simply makes Ballistic Weave available upon activation, and removes the Railroad requirement. Been a staple for me ever since I got the bug where BW never unlocks even after meeting the requirements.

Scrap that Settlement: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/4026695
- lets you clean damn near all of the rubbish, dead shrubs, and broken things out of your settlement, and (most importantly) is quite possibly the only cleanup mod that does this without breaking precombines. If you don't know what precombines are, trust me on this, breaking them en masse with any other cleanup mod is a bad, bad thing.

Wintermute Cyborg Followers: https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/915043
- uses the Automatron framework to allow you to summon and customize humanoid cyborg followers. Lots of fun on its own, but you can also tweak the mod's settings via added holotape and use it to customize other NPCs too; give Cait some makeup and nicer hair, things like that.
