Is it better to actually try coming up with a solution to a very serious, growing problem than to stick your fingers in your ears and scream about responsibility as though that makes the problem any smaller? Absolutely. Sucks for the people who managed to avoid debt or pay theirs off already, but it's just not practical to demand that nobody ever solves problems you've already worked around.
