| EverDownward 05/13/19 12:50:16 AM #45: | I'd also like to state that my best friend currently works with the specially handicapped at his local high school, and he's looked at as a model teacher in spite of all the abuse and mischief he receives on a daily basis. Some of the stories he's told me wouldn't get me to spend a day there - but he genuinely loves the kids he works with and does it because he cares. EDIT: My point is that it takes a certain kind of person with a certain level of humanity to work positions that will deal with people at their most challenged or most lowest points - I don't believe for a second any one person off the street can do what these people do, and it comes from more than just general training to know how to adequately and appropriately treat them with both the care and decency they absolutely deserve. --- "And you can't tell me what my spirit tells me isn't true, can you?" ...
