Nick officially has the best two-contest debut of any character to ever participate. Not just excluding the first two contests, but period. Donald with 5th then 1st, Mulan went 6th then 2nd, even the fabled Rapunzel didn't make the top 5 in her first two contests. Nick is one of only three characters to make back to back top threes, and one of only five characters to make multiple top threes at all. I'd also like to point out, just for fun, that Nick's final appearance was pretty close to Simba's first one -- facing a character that had previously lost a final having finished third the year prior. Except this obviously panned out differently. This average finish of 2.0 is the best we've seen, and absolutely puts him in a great position to debut atop the stats next year. His worst-case scenario to not make that happen would be for Judy Hopps to win, putting her average finish at 7.0. Should that happen, Nick would need to finish 16th to guarantee himself a debut atop the stats ladder. There's a lot of new blood ready to enter the stats next year, and it'll be interesting to see the impact that they'll have. But congrats to Nick and his supporters, getting a win for a non-stats eligible character has never happened before.
