It makes little sense to me and feels dumb for the character. I don't know why people are going nuts for it. Jacqui is all gimmicks now though and has so many cool toys. This is honestly the best thing they could have done with her: go all out with gimmicks and toys and throwing out plasma and energy weapons and rockets and all sorts of nonsense.
