Write-Up: Here is a classic that I heard quite a bit as a young kid when I really started to gain interest in musical instrumentation and whatnot. I'm always attracted to a nice acoustic sound and what I love about this song is it features Jim Krueger's 12 string acoustic guitar. I can't play on a 12 string guitar myself but kinda want to get one someday just because of the harmony you can create with one. I'm still learning new tricks and riffs all the time but I got a ways to go before I'd dare call myself a pro. Billy Dean would eventually record his own version of the song in 1993. It became the most popular version but the problem I have with it is that it was recorded as a country song. Somehow the twang in the vocals changes the whole thing for me even though the vocals are pretty much the biggest difference between the two versions. Normally I'd admit that my disinterest might be because of my aversion to most country music but in this case it really isn't because of that. I really didn't like the additional solo that Dean added in his version tbh. ====================================
