Write-Up: I honestly don't think there is anything Funkier than the beat here. I mean, it's in the title am I rite? Rob Parissi really hit the jack pot when he wrote this song for his band Wild Cherry. It propelled them to instant stardom the year this was released which happened to be their first outing. The song went straight to #1 in no time and became a popular staple at the clubs in the late 70's. Billboard (as of last year) still has it included on their Top 100 "greatest of all time" list. I don't quite feel as strong about it as that but it's notable and gets my head bobbin'. Vanilla Ice would eventually record his own version of the song and embarrassingly did not give Rob credit for the song so naturally he got his a** sued for half a million bucks lol. It makes me laugh because of the line "play that funky music white boy" and who is whiter that Vanilla Ice am I rite? ====================================
