MORE ABOUT THOSE SMASH-CHARACTERS WHO GOT IN BEFORE SHEIK:

So lets get more specific about our previous Smash-entrants listed above.

Sheik was beaten to GameFAQs matches by the following individual NPCs perceived to be jokes that were seen in some capacity from the series:

*Paddle, which has been in a bonus match.
*? Block, which has been a proper entrant in one contest and beat a former contest champion in another contest's bonus poll.
*Sandbag, which has been in two contests and advanced to the second round before.
*Mudkip, which has been in two contests and advanced to the second round twice.
*Master Hand, which has been seen in two contests and won two matches.
*Tingle, who has been in three contests.
*Waluigi, who has been in three contests and advanced to the second round before.
*A wonderful horse unfairly considered to be a joke, which won a match and was LFF'd out of its chance to horseshoe-kick many others.

How about playable characters though? Here are some stats of playable Smash-characters we saw in a match before Sheik ever entered a contest.

1/2 of the Ice Climbers
1 Wii Fit character
2 Kid Icarus characters
3 variations of Link
4 Fire Emblem characters
6 Pokemon and 1 trainer
10 third party characters (and at least one more upcoming)

All 12 original Smash characters
25 out of 26 Melee characters
32 out of 37 Brawl characters
40 out of 55 SSB4 3DS + Wii U characters
56 out of 76 Ultimate characters

Lets look deeper into the times new hype and new releases got new characters in over Sheik:

2007: 5 contest newcomers debuted from Brawls hype.
2008: 7 contest newcomers debuted from Brawls release.
2013: 3 contest newcomers debuted from SSB4s hype.
2018: 3 contest newcomers debuted from Ultimates hype.

One more estimated stat: how many characters were to some degree in a Smash-game or confirmed to be in the next Smash-game per contest? I had to make some guesses because I'm not looking up info like which day we had access to which game's trophies, but roughly speaking..

2002: ~8/64 (12.5.%)
2003: ~13/64 (20.31%)
2004: ~10/64 (15.63%)
2005-Villains: ~4/32 (12.5%)
2005: ~11/67 (16.42%)
2006-Females: ~3/32 (9.38%)
2006-Males: ~10/36 (27.78%)
2006-Total: ~13/68 (19.12%)
2007: ~26/131 (19.85%)
2008: ~32/131 (24.43%)
2009/2010: ~30/128 (23.44%)
2013: ~60/243 (24.69%)
2018: ~50/136 (36.76%)

We basically had FIFTY Smash-characters in our last Character Battle and SIXTY in the Character Battle before -- and we've had ten of these Character Battles over sixteen years -- and yet Sheik cant make it in once? Not one time? Not even in the Female Bracket? Or when we had two hundred forty-three spots available? Or when Smash-characters made up over a third of our bracket? Or when we have like eighteen characters who only debuted here because they just debuted in Smash?

Get the hell out of here. This site loves Smash and that's not going away, so Its time to allow Sheik!
