I wanted to buy both Classics and play the games legitimately.

The issue with that is that if you truly want to stay legitimate, then you can't add more games to the Classic. Adding games to them is the only thing that makes them worthwhile. Otherwise they are a ripoff.

By legitimate I meant legally.

The classics are a rip off to you but not to me. The games offered are such a great deal. There are some games I never played and some that I only played a little as a child. And like I said in my first post, I have a raspberry pi if I wanted most of the NES and SNES library.

Yeah, I know what you meant. Downloading ROMs is not legal period. Building a raspberry pi emulation machine is therefore not legal, and adding more ROMs to the NES/SNES Classic is therefore not legal either.

Most people don't care though. I don't care either, and I emulate old school games too. However, trying to stay legitimate/legal would mean you could not download ROMs or use a raspberry pi for emulation period.

I think what's he truing to say is that he wants to play them legally. But if he had to play them illegally, he would rather use Raspberry pi rather than a hacked system. Which basically means he doesn't want to use either, but would use raspberry pi first if he had to... I think...
