Church didn't exist while he was alive so...not sure what you are talking about.

Perhaps you refer to the widow's mite? Thing about that is he didn't encourage her to do it and was just explaining the she gave more than the rich people did which mathematically is true (percents).

Maybe you refer to the rich young ruler? If so, that was to give to the poor and not the Church.
