Around 1808-1809, Earth's atmospheric temperature noticeably dropped. It's culprit is theorized to be a VEI 6 (third-highest caliber) eruption. The problem is, scientists have never been able to pinpoint which volcano it was. All the research so far suggests it's a tropical volcano between Indonesia and South America.

Speaking of volcanos in the 1800s and quoted from google
