I wasn't comparing across platforms, I was comparing let's go evee to let's go pikachu. The same game released twice but with different pokemon.

I've never seen them market the Let's Go games as needing to buy both of them either, so your example doesn't make sense.


So why do it? The trading mechanic isn't limited by hardware anymore, so that doesn't make sense to me. Why split the pokemon you can collect into entirely separate games that cost $60 each?
