Not the happiest of places but like the regular world most people get by just fine. But it's got slightly higher tech than what we have now, fantasy races like elves and magic. Set in a world pretty similar to our own. (Actually it is based on this world just slightly in the future and with the shit like magic and elves) And in that world I wouldn't be so scared of cybernetic enhancments as the video games I played it seemed pretty obvious the government wasn't using shit like that to spy on people.
