Mr Lasastryke posted...
new name for the european VGM composers list: charles deenen.

Not bad! I tried flipping through a lot of songs credited to him and I'd say his two best were easily from the SNES Lord of the Rings game. The title theme is the obvious choice for best song (and I wouldn't disagree with that), but Hobbiton Theme isn't far behind:

The chirping bird effects are really impressive for a 16-bit game. I'll also give a special shout-out to the first minute of Mantalos:

That is great; I'm less interested in the song once it gets going, but it has one of the strongest opening sequences of any VGM I've ever heard. And while it's not really one of his songs, he is credited as a Producer on a few Virtual Pool tracks, like "Lose My Way":

Not his work at all (Written and composed by Ronald Valdez, sung by Stacy Darin), but it did come up while I was searching his name. Not at all the type of song I was expecting to find, but I like it. Remind me to nominate that one and that Game Boy Terminator song the next time a VGM ranking topic asks for nominations.

Also, something kinda funny: I've been listening to the Classic Rock station a lot more often lately (it's the only station I listen to that still isn't playing any Christmas music) and they actually played Thunder Road today! That was fun.
