I've had one apple pie made with sour apples and it was actually pretty damn good. I'm not a big fan of apple pie either. They weren't granny smith apples though, so maybe they weren't as sour. So far, the chocolate pie is mostly done, just have to wait for it to cool off to put the finishing touches on it.
