I have been doing 8-16 too. I am down 60 in 3 months. I stalled for a 2 week period last month but it stared moving again. If that happens to you dont let it demotivate you. Push through it and it will start going down again.

I eat 1300 to 2000 calories a day split into 2 meals. Maybe a piece of fruit in the middle of the day. I cut out all the daily junk food. Soda being the prime offender in that. I do eat one fancy dessert a week on Saturday. Knowing I will get that keeps me on track and away from the garbage the rest of the week. I'm eating more healthy home cooked meals and stay away from fried and fast food. Roasted chicken breast, rice and veggies are my new best friends.

I try to walk at least a mile a day weather permitting. I picked Pokemon Go back up. I use it as a tool to keep me motivate to go out every day. Luckily the community in my town is still thriving. That makes it more fun to play. I also take a weightlifting class at the gym once a week.

If you have problems with your knees and back you should look into swimming. It is low impact and is good for people with problems like yours. A local place could have an indoor pool you can use. Yoga is another option for something low impact.
