Batman: Arkham Asylum

- Wow. Those were some hilariously godawful end credits. I was laughing by the fifth time there was a repeat storyboard not even two minutes into the zoom in, zoom out mess. Especially since some of those pictures are the hilarious Batman punching the sky scream and Batman high kick zoom straight into crotch.

Also, I'm guessing this was by the same or similar teams as Deus Ex: Human Revolution? It hits a lot of the same beats with excellent exploration, great henchmen dialogue, cool gadgets and stealth sections, and absolutely abysmal boss sections. Aside from Poison Ivy, the bosses were nearly all terrible. It was either big guy runs into walls, fight lots of badguys then hit the boss once, or fight lots of badguys while big guy runs into walls.

Detective Mode is also broken as hell. The only downside to using it 95% of the game is missing out on the visuals, but honestly the sedate blues and oranges felt better than the blooming reds and greens.

Overall very fun. Dated as tons of games have taken and expanded on the Arkham Asylum formula since, but still holds up. Honestly, it began to feel like a really cool 3D '90s action beat em up with how little enemy variation there was. It felt like stages of a Simpsons/TMNT/XMen arcade style game when it came to slugfests.

Only one more game to go...
