This is something some of you already knew: I hate Gaston. Both the character and the song.
Though I don't mind the live action version so much (I still hate the message, but it sounds...better). Anyway, not seeing the despicable man on screen does help. The tune is fun and catchy if I just don't listen too hard to the lyrics, and the orchestration is really good. I do like that they use a whole pub to tell this story of the man who's more of a monster than the Beast. I still don't like Gaston, but it's a good and unique way to write a villain song.

I didn't like La La Land as much as the general public. Mainly because there were not too many songs I liked and there are so few crowd songs.
Well, Another Day of Sun is one of them and it's honestly a good and catchy tune but I just have some problem that...who the heck are singing this song? Are they all showbiz dreamers? Nothing really points at it since they were just...randos stuck in traffic jam. The song is more about the leads...Mia and...Kevin? that doesn't sound right. Or about the movie's themes. But that means these randos are just props and not really characters in their own right singing about what's actually relevant to them so yeah why should I care about them.
To be fair, it might be an homage to old style of musicals where they can just have anyone passing by the set to sing the crowd songs and call it a day, doesn't mean I have to like it. And then again I think of classic musical movie (let's say The Wizard of Oz) and even then the crowd singing the song actually makes more sense than La La Land's.
