Smackdown Week 2 May 2018

We start the show with GM Christopher Daniels in the ring. He says he LOVES the idea of a King of the Ring. It's a great TOURNAMENT to show who the greatest WRESTLER is, despite it not being for a BELT. Smackdown's going to have one too. He announces AJ Styles and Braun Strowman will both have qualifying matches tonight. Strowman vs Sheamus, and Styles vs Baron Corbin. EC3 marches to the ring, demands a spot. Daniels is feeling generous, gives him a qualifier against Jinder Mahal too. (82)

EC3 vs Jinder Mahal. They posture a bit, lock up a little, but before serious offense, EC3 seemingly pays Jinder off with a few hundred dollar bills from his tights. Jinder seems okay with this, lays down. EC3 gets the 3 and qualifies. (56)

AJ Styles comes out. He talks up the King of the Ring, and his victory over Orton, and how it's the house that A. J. Styles. Built! BZZZZTTTT. Scott Dawson comes out with a hard hat on. He says this can't be the house AJ Styles built... this house... could only have been built by... A GREAT ARCHITECT LIKE HIMSELF, BILL DINGH. TONIGHT, HE WILL LAY THE FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS, WITH A FALLEN AJ STYLES SERVING AS THE BASE. While he's talking Dash Wilder hits the ring, wearing a tooth necklace and shorts that say PRINCE on one leg, IKEA on the other, brutally attacking AJ Styles from behind. Dingh continues, introducing him as the man who designs the furnishings to his great structures, PRINCE IKEA. The two attack Styles in a 2 on 1 as Disco Inferno cheers them on, Styles eventually fights them off but appears injured. (73)

Bayley v Charlotte v Mickie v Nia. Bayley is taken out early by Nia and sits most of the match. A massive collision occurs where Nia trucks over Mickie and Charlotte, but spills out of the ring. Bayley recovers at that moment and Bailey to Bellys Mickie for an easy win, that being about her only offense. (68) Charlotte starts to rip into Nia and Mickie for losing the women's title to Alexa, and goes on a rant about how Smackdown has no women's title. The debuting IIconics show up. They mock Smackdown's women's division for being so pathetic and not having any titles :( :( :(. They then reveal their own belts, say they were given these belts by women with class and talent, Leilani Kai and Judy Martin. They mock the women in the ring and call them uncultured swine for not knowing their history. Nia, bored, lays out Charlotte, IIconics mock them as barbarians and walk off (61)

Chavo Guerrero Jr d. "Jose" (47) Liv Morgan, still with her women's battle royal championship cup, suggests that with Sarah Logan sent off to Raw and no maybe they should just disband the Riott Squad. Ruby calls her an idiot and says those tag titles are the only thing of worth for women to obtain. Liv says she could defend her title cup but is cut off by Ruby who says they must begin training! (52)

Samoa Joe and Finn Balor show up to Daniels's office. They gloat about their respective wins at Backlash. Joe points out that Balor's was a fluke and Seth's foot was on the rope. Balor denies it, and points out that maybe Roman didn't quit. Daniels is bored, says he'll let Balor in for Seth Rollins's dignity, since Balor took it from him. Balor thinks a bit, writes "Seth Rollins's Dignity" on a slip of paper and hands it to Daniels. Daniels says he's in. Samoa Joe is LIVID. (92)
