I don't like the melody, Sweeney is too silly a name to be taken menacingly, and at some parts it's too screechy and others it's too airy. I'll admit that it's technically satisfies as a crowd song though, as in yes, I can believe these are the people of London who all heard the tale of Sweeney Todd and are now sharing it with the audience. It is quite theatrical as well, it's rather dramatic and serves a narrative purpose. But the tune itself is unsalvageable to my ears. Anyway, it's good that the rest of the musical is better than this. Sweeney! Sweeney! Shut uppey! 65. One of the most overrated songs in Disney history. No, not everybody wants to be a cat. That's just stupid. Society will break down and without renewable source of food, the ecosystem would be disrupted, then cats will cannibalize themselves and then die off. No. Well the song is not bad as I remembered it to be, but I still hate the seizure-inducing psychedelic part and...well, let's not even get into the very racist caricature there. This song is just all over the place, sometimes sleep-inducing and sometimes makes you want to tear your ears out (especially the final part with everybody everybody oh god shut up you smelly felines who should have never been born! Curse you!).
