- Highly recommend playing this. There's still at least one quest and a post-game still to be implemented, but the entire experience is absolutely incredible as it is.

It's an Action RPG. Skill trees, equipment, combat styles, lots and lots of slashing and shooting and dodging and blocking with an emphasis on timing and chaining and attacks of opportunity and strategy. Every enemy has different attack patterns or specialties, and more than a few at once can get pretty overwhelming if you don't have the equipment, levels, partners, or knowledge to deal with them. Bosses are very fun, and even running around fighting low level enemies again just to collect loot can be entertaining with how swiftly you can dispatch them (and still may get killed due to recklessness).

It's a Puzzle Platformer. Every overworld map and town hub has multiple paths you can go with plenty of wayward islands to hop, cliffs to find a way to climb, switches to figure out how to get to, quests to endeavor, and chests to beat yourself up when you spend hours trying to figure out what screen to come from or what sequence of jumps could get you there... when the answer is literally not far off and just requires you to notice that you could've easily walked to it the entire time and you just feel silly. Um, yes, and it's just a lot of collectibles to get if you want them. Figuring out the landscape and how to get places is tons of fun, especially unlocking paths.

It's has Zelda Dungeons. Hi, Lea! The dungeons are massive complex structures with lots of puzzle sequences. Hell, maybe Lufia II might be more apt for its puzzle structure. Every dungeon has an element attached to it which you get late in the dungeon to get through the final, hardest sequences. Bosses are tied to those puzzles and elements to beat, but it never becomes simple and formulaic.

It's a Character-driven Story. Lea is the main character and she's a mute amnesiac. You'd think that wouldn't make for a solid main character, but holy **** she is amazing. Her expressiveness, her sass, her fears, her cheers, those mindbreaking moments, those dreams, every interaction she has with her friends and her rivals... The world is a fully realized with as great cast. At the end, I was even reminded of a LARPing group and how each character feels a lot like someone I know in real life. That was really cool and unexpected.

So, yeah, definitely definitely play it.
