DACA never went away, as Trump promised over 1.7 million DACA recipients to not be deported.

The only reason why DACA is still in existence is because a judge blocked the executive order signed by Trump that eliminated it and ordered the government to continue accepting new applicants.

And if you believe Trump's promises on anything, I have a wall to sell you that I pinky swear Mexico will pay for.

It just wasnt emphasized in the media because the left wouldnt want to hear about that

And because the right would be mortified if they had to admit that Obama was doing something they agreed with.

Remember, back in the 70's, we were expected to go into an Ice Age by 2000

Remember when people thought the Earth was the centre of the universe? Man they were totally wrong about that. That's why I'm sure they're wrong about the Earth not being the centre of the universe now.

Then why did it start to rapidly increase immediately following the election (despite warnings by the media that we would go into a global economic depression)?

Because literally nobody was predicting a global economic depression and the rapid increase was already happening under Obama?

Even though North Korea is in a vulnerable position right now, and Kim is fearing for his life since China is getting tired of him, and he knows he has nothing to benefit from nuclear war

Kim has nothing to benefit from nuclear war, but everything to benefit from nuclear arms.

Seriously, this is not difficult to figure out. Kim does not want to be deposed - not by his enemies, not by his allies, not by his generals, and not by his own people. What's his most reliable way to securing his own future? Making sure that he is too risky to take out - and that's exactly what nuclear arms brings to the table. He'll never win a conventional war with one of the world, but he can ensure that if someone tries to take him out, he'll take millions of innocent people out with him and ensure the cost of victory is so obscenely high no rational person would ever accept it.

The fact that China is getting tired of him is a sign that Kim is getting exactly what he wants. For a long time, North Korea was China's lapdog by dint of the fact that China had enormous influence over the regime and could (in theory) get rid of the Kims the instant they posed a serious problem. Now? Trying to depose Kim would spark a humanitarian crisis unlike any the world has ever seen before. And that's exactly how Kim wants it.

Kim would be an idiot to sign a nuclear arms pact with Trump. Iran did that with the last administration, complete with verifications that it was - by all accounts, even Trump's - living up to, yet the next administration unilaterally nixed the treaty for no particularly good reason. And so, Kim is doing the exact same thing North Korea has done with the last three administrations and counting - promise peace, make a largely symbolic show of giving up some token of their nuclear program, demand concessions, immediately renege on the bargain when they have what they want. Lo and behold, now that China is no longer enforcing sanctions on them, the pace of this "denuclearization" has slowed to a halt. Kim will continue to string this along for as long as he feels he can dupe Trump (probably quite a while, given how things look now) and then we'll be right back to square one.
