Topic	Your favourite horror game series?

I tried to include games that I believe were focused on being scary. Ones with more focus on the action, like FEAR (scary at times, sure, but mostly typical FPS), didn't make it to the poll list. Yet you had room for certain other titles. Tsk, tsk! ParanoidObsessive posted... It's kind of a truism that if you can shoot back at the monsters, it takes a lot of the horror out of the horror. It's different with lightgun games because they control the pace and rely on jumps. Most horror games aren't scary simply because when you can control the pacing and direction, it takes away the suspense. For instance, when you know that a jump may be coming, you can choose to hold off approaching a corridor until you feel ready. In a lightgun game, the game may slow things down for a second to build up suspense, turn the corridor and... nothing... but then right after you've been lulled into a false sense of security, bam! Something happens.
