To further confirm them, the Mets scored 1 one for deGrom while he was pitching, with another 2 after he was finished (I guess technically, he was still in the game for those 2 runs, but his day was finished, he wasn't going back out for the 9th). The man basically pitched the whole season with the score tied or within 1 run. He only pitched 19 innings all season in which the scoring margin was 3 runs or more. He took the mound trailing in only 26 innings (12%) all season. He took the mound in a tie game 47% of the time.
