A dog is "it" by default, but humans are also "it" or "them" by default. But the moment you know what genitals a dog has (or had, if it was spayed/neutered), it's a "he" or "she" (and fuck you if you're going to try and argue that dogs can be transgendered). If you had a reasonable expectation of knowing what sex the dog was (because they've mentioned it before, or because it has a blatantly gender-specific sort of name), then it sort of shifts to you being the asshole for insisting on the neutral terminology. jmikla posted...
