I don't know the context for any of those stories so I can't give specifics. However, ex-cons obviously need to work and prison is supposed to be reformatory. That said, specific types of crimes should preclude people from working in certain fields for at least a while.

Murder has one of the lowest recidivism rates and, in many cases, a murder is just an assault/battery that went too far. As such, it's silly to single them out for special treatment especially because they're more heavily screened than other felons anyway.
