Roni Burns-Ellis just burned herself as the Elementary School Principal was FIRED after she called former NFL star and activist, Colin Kaepernick a "thug" in a Facebook post that people deemed racist.

She said she was no longer supporting the company and posted a photo with cut up Nike Shirt and said "My newest rag! When Nike signs an anti-American thug to represent their brand, i will not support, wear, purchase or endorse their product. Bye-bye Nike.". She also went on to say in a now deleted post that she would NEVER let children at her school kneel on "her watch"..

It quickly caught the attention of angry parents who started a petition to have the heifer fired.

The district released a statement that said "As our country has become divided and name calling and hate has become normalized, we were particularly disheartened by her comment on FB. We may disagree but we hope our Los Alamitos School leader will always act civility, treat each other with respect and not engage in name calling. Our children view the teachers and principals as a beacon of moral character"

More than 2300 people signed the petition as most are messages from the parents and one parent said "our principal obviously has racist views on blacks. He is no gangster, criminal or for that matter a thug".

Some people have defended her however as William Haughland said he thinks Kaepernick disrespected the military and the nation by kneeling who said "I agree with her. Everything she's done. I mean Colin Kaepernick, he's disrespected the military, disrespected this nation just by kneeling during the nation. You don't do that. Standing for our national should be mandatory. End of story. Respect the country that gave you everything you have"

She released an apology stating she didn't mean to offend anyone and regretted using the word thug but that wasn't enough re-instate her as she continues to fight to have her job back.

Should standing for the national anthem be mandatory?
