Why are you so gullible as to believe everything the TC says. He admitted he doesn't have a back up plan and never considered one, and he doesn't even know if the insulin has an expiration date.

Those are some pretty important things that you should know and discuss with your doctor. A chronic condition that can be very detrimental to your health and can in fact kill you should not be taken lightly. You should discuss every possible thing with your doctor about it.

Diabetes is so common that situations like the TC's situation are almost certainly very common with someone not having an insulin shot on a weekend and can't get it replaced since the doctor's office is closed. I very much doubt however that the only solution is getting a $1,200 shot from the ER. It's probably the only solution the TC is aware of because he has never discussed it with his doctor.

Like I said before, failing to plan is planning to fail, and it doesn't seem like the TC has really thought much about this very serious health condition. That's on him, not on the doctor. You absolutely cannot fault the doctor for taking a Sunday off work. The TC should have planned ahead for crap like this and known what to do about it. Again that's what this whole topic is really about is the TC being pissed that his doctor was closed on Sunday. He should be pissed at himself instead.
