| Topic | Where were you when you found out about the September 11 2001 attacks? |
| shipwreckers 09/11/18 9:21:31 PM #20: | I walked into the snack shop at my university, and noticed pretty much everyone in the room circled around the TV. There was an awkward silence. More and more people walked in, and stared at the screen, but nobody said a word. When the towers came crashing down, it was horrifying. Then, years later, I thought about the fact that many places in the Middle East have buildings crumble on a weekly, or even daily basis. Constant warfare right on their doorsteps. I then feel guilty about how petty people in the USA get with their political pissing contests. I mean, we've got it pretty good here. I can count on one hand how many buildings in my entire nation have crumbled due to acts of terrorist violence within my lifetime. Many people mourn on Sept 11th. To me, it reminds me of just how much I have to be thankful for. --- Money is overrated... ... Copied to Clipboard! |
