As there are more reactions to the advertising campaign by more sports knowledgeable people I'm getting a clearer picture of what preceded it. 1) He's not that good at his sport. He was valued for his ability to run but not for his ability to throw. The opposing teams would utilize this by limiting his ability to run and putting him in positions where he needed to throw. 2) He had turned down a deal because he thought he was worth more money. 3) His sport career was already near it's end when the kneeling started. Conclusion: The only thing he believed in was his own greed. The kneeling was nothing more than a negotiation tactic to draw attention to him, and away from his performance. He didn't take up a cause. He found a cause he take advantage of with the aim to draw out his failing career and get a bigger payout. Yet you went out of your way to be wrong.
