I'm kinda hard pressed to think of anything I thought was really great that ended up being unsuccessful. It's more a matter of it being the popular stuff that truly makes it big while great shows either fly under the radar or have limited success. The handling of Genshiken is a good example, since it had a first season, then a bunch of OVAs, and then a greatly abridged second season -- which, all things considered, still has a nice cap for the show even if the manga went longer. keyblader1985 posted... YoukaiSlayer posted...That anime was in a LOT of top favorite lists before brotherhood came out. I never thought that highly of the original FMA and had always been surprised by the praise it received.
